Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)
Schools have staff who are skilled in helping people who have a learning difficulty or a disability. Find out what help there is in your sixth form.
Thinking of college?
All colleges have a "Disability Statement" that lists their additional services for students. Ask for a copy. They also have someone in charge of making sure students get the best possible support. Talk to them about the help you might need.
Support on work-based learning
There is additional support to help you succeed at work-based learning. This is to make sure you get a good start both in your job and in you work towards a qualification. Talk to your Connexions personal adviser about the help you can expect.
Support when you start work
Disability Employment Advisers, based in Jobcentre Plus offices, can give you extra help to find work or gain new skills.
